The UNDP/GEF Project, “Reducing Environmental Stress In the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem” has completed the Strategic Action Programme (SAP) and implemented demonstration projects, generating new knowledge and information. These will be showcased at the “Second Yellow Sea Regional Science Conference” along with scientific results from other projects implemented in the Yellow Sea.
The 2nd Regional Science Conference will:
· Summarise knowledge and experience obtained through the project.
· Exchange scientific views and information.
· Discuss ecosystem-based approach for management.
· Identify emerging scientific issues, including the impacts of climate change on the Yellow Sea.
· Contribute information for the final project summary.
Abstract Submission 〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓〓▶ Deadline 15th December 2009
The 4 sessions will consist of invited talks and a call for abstracts. Interested parties may submit abstracts on the topics listed above or other appropriate subjects. See the Abstract Submission Form on www.yslme.org.
All abstracts should be unpublished and original works of the author/s. The author/s will be solely liable for any claims of fraud and plagiarism.

The conference will consist of:
· Keynote speeches on: the project’s achievements; ecosystem-based approach to manage large marine ecosystems; and developments in the GEF International Waters Portfolio.
· Sessions dealing with: ecosystem drivers and impacts; mechanisms and linkages of ecosystem change; science-based management; and governance and co-operation.
· A discussion and summary wrap-up session.
